Chapter 2:
“MOM?!” Louis, Zayn, and Liam all yelled at the same time in shock. Standing in front of them were their moms: Jay, Tricia, Karen, and Maura. “What are you doing here?” ask Liam. “Well, its nice to see you boys too.” laughed Karen. “Aren’t you boys going to invite us inside? We thought we raised well.” joked Jay. “Right, of course, come on in” smiled Niall.
They all sat down in the living room in silence for a couple of minutes until Harry broke the silence. “So, what brings you guys here in London? Why didn’t you guys tell us that you were coming?” asked Harry. Jay, Tricia, Karen, and Maura, all just looked at each until finally Jay sighed. “This is what we came for.”
She pulled out of her purse a tabloid magazine and placed it on the coffee table for all the boys to see. On the front cover with big, bold letters, it reads: “ONE DIRECTION SPILTING UP?! THE BIGGEST UK BOYBAND OF OUR GENERATION THINKING OF APARTING THEIR OWN WAYS?! OH HOW THE AGGONY FOR THEIR DIE HARD DIRECTIONERS!!!” Inside the magazine it read: “One Direction, is thinking of going their own direction? The rumour has been spreading all across the media and social networking sites for some time now. ‘They have been fighting so much lately, I’m won’t be at all surprised if they break up.’ said an insider. With Louis gone into acting more a little bit, Zayn just getting out of rehab, Liam getting ready to tie the knot with long-time girlfriend Danielle Peazer, Niall writing big songs for a variety of different big name artists such as Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, and Cher Lloyd, and a brand new rumour of Harry of thinking of leaving the band to be sign as a solo artist in Universal Music Group, the BIGGEST record company in the world, none of us should be surprised at all if they break up. Every boy band has come and go, we all knew One Direction was bound to break up and be left in the dust at one point, but do you think that time is now?”
The boys were all silent for a long time, after reading the article. They didn’t know what to say, they were all speechless. “We know these past few years have been really tuff on you boys, especially with you Harry. Harry looked up at her. And what had happened to your mom.” said Tricia softly. Harry looked back down and stared at his hands. It had been 3 years. 3 years since his mom had died from that accident.
*Flashback*
The boys were performing in their sold out Madison Square Garden. It was the boy‘s biggest accomplishment yet in their career and dream come true. The boys were backstage getting ready. Just before the concert was about to start, Paul, called Harry to the side. “Hey what’s up Paul? I am so pumped for this show!” excitedly said Harry. Paul was silent for a bit with a concerned look on him face. He sighed then said “Gemma just called me, something happened to Anne.” he paused. “What? What is it Paul? What’s wrong? What happened to my mom!” shouted Harry. “She called and said that your mom was driving home and all of a sudden, coming out of nowhere, a drunk driver, hit her car and it roller over” said Paul “WHAT?! No you‘re lying!!” yelled Harry. “I’m sorry Harry, if you want to you can fly bac-” Paul didn’t even finished his sentence because Harry was already running out the backstage door. “Where are you going Harry?!” “Holmes Chapel, England.” said Harry before he went inside the taxi.
“MOM?” Harry was running and looking down the halls in the hospital, finally he saw her. “Mom.” He walked to her bed and look at her. She looked look so pale and lifeless on that bed. “Harry…” That was all Anne could breathe out. Harry sat down by her bedside and took her hand. “Yes Mom, I’m here, everything is going to be okay.” Harry hoped. He saw Gemma on the other side of his mom’s bed, her eyes were red from crying a lot, Harry took his other hand and held her hand. All of a sudden the doctor came in. “I am very sorry to say that your mother has a very small chance of surviving. When the driver hit her, it was worse than we expected. Please say your good byes now, I will let you alone to do it.” After the doctor left it was silent, you can only hear the beeping of the monitors. “Mom, I am so sorry, what had happened to you, you did not deserve this.” said Gemma. Then Harry spoke. “Mom, I love you so much, and like Gemma said, you don’t deserve this,” Harry was trying to find the right words to say, but then Anne spoke. “Harry, Gemma, its okay. God does these things for a reason, I don’t know what the reason is, but I know its something good.” “But mom, you’re not ready to die. You have so much more to see, me with the lads, and Gemma is getting married soon!” said Harry. At this point Harry was already crying, his tears were strolling down his cheeks. Anne took her hand and stroked harry’s cheek and stroked his hair back. “Honey, my job as a mom is to raise my kids to be independent and happy. Look at you, you are in the most successful band in the world right now, and Gemma you are getting married to a wonderful man, that’s all I could ever ask for and I‘m am very proud of both of you.” “But you have to be with us to go through it all, you can’t just leave, not yet.” Harry chocked. Anne put down her hand. “Harry, Gemma I love you both so much you know that, but in life I’m not going to always with you in everything physically, but I will always be there through everything, through thick or thin, good or bad in your hearts.” “Mom, I love you.” said Harry softly. All of a sudden the monitor showed a straight line, no more beeps, all you could hear was a straight beep sound. Gemma started sobbing and said “I love you mom”, she let go of Anne’s hand for the last time and left the room. Harry just sat there, didn’t know what to do, so he started singing.
“You know I’ll be, you life, your voice, your reason to be, my love, my heart is breathing for this…” Harry chocked. But he knew he had to finish it for his mom. “Moments, in time, I’ll find the words to say,” Harry breathed. “Before you leave me today.” He looked at his mom one last time, he stroked her hair with his hand then kissed her forehead and let go of her hand for the last time . When he left the room, he hugged Gemma, and then they saw the nurse covering Anne’s body with the covers, and that was the last time they‘ll ever see their mom ever again.
*Present day*
“Like I said, I don’t ever want to talk about that ever again.” said Harry with a serious voice. Ever since that day Harry has gotten more quieter, he really doesn’t like talking about it, not even with the boys. Instead to try and make the pain go away, he goes out and party almost every night, getting wasted, even missing a couple of recording sessions and concerts just so he can get drunk out of his mind. But the alcohol doesn’t making the empty feeling in his the heart go away. He’s become a douche bag and a rebel, and wanting to take over the spot light, and taking over the most of the solos, I guess that‘s why UMG wants to sign him. He has the looks, the voice, and big enough fan base to survive on his own and have a successful solo career.
“But Harry, this isn’t about you, its about all of you.” said Maura. “Is the only reason why you all came all the way here, to talk about a rumour of us breaking up?” said Zayn. “That’s not all we came here for.” said Karen. All the boys looked at each other, confused.
“We all talked about this, and we decided that you boys are going to take a little vacation, together” said Tricia “Where?” asked Harry “The Bungalow.” said Jay with a smirk.
